All staff undergo Equal Opportunities training to ensure that fairness exists throughout the centre and that we support equal opportunities for all.

Modern Apprenticeships

Modern Apprenticeships are a Government funded scheme, which allow you to work in a workplace environment whilst continuing with your learning. The cost of your training is met by the Learning & Skills Council and your employer.

Under a Modern Apprenticeship you will be in the workplace for 4 days and at Achievement Training for 1 day per week.

There are 2 types of Modern Apprenticeship:

Foundation Modern Apprenticeship (FMA):
This is a Level 2 qualification, and you can either be an employed person or a trainee. The employer must pay you a minimum of £50 per week.

Advanced Modern Apprenticeship (AMA):
This is a Level 3 supervisory qualification, and you will need to be in an employed position.

A Modern Apprenticeship consists of a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ), Technical Certificate & Key Skills. Key Skills are the types of skills which employers look for when recruiting and promoting people. They are also important in your personal life because they can help you to organise yourself, handle information and get on with others. The Key Skills Units consist of Application of Number, Communication, Information Technology, Working with Others, Improving Own Learning and Problem Solving.

On completion of the Modern Apprenticeship, you will have 4 certificates, which are effectively 3 qualifications: Modern Apprenticeship, NVQ, Technical Certicate and Key Skills.

There are also be short courses available free to Modern Apprentices such as Equal Opportunities and Health & Safety to go alongside your course. Certificates are issued on completion.

If you already have a work placement in mind, it would be a good idea to take an employer guide to them and explain a little bit about the Modern Apprenticeship Scheme. We will be happy to contact the placement on your behalf.

Modern Apprenticeships are available in a wide range of subjects at Achievement Training including Administration, Beauty Therapy, Customer Service, Care, Early Years Care and Information Technology. We can also refer you to other training providers if we do not offer the qualification you prefer.
