What you'll learn

This qualification is designed to increase learners’ knowledge and understanding of mental health and mental well-being. Successful completion of the required 5 units will allow the
learner to develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of mental health. It will also support progression into relevant employment within the health and social care sector.
You will complete 5 knowledge units covering the following topics;
• Unit 01: Understanding the context of mental health and wellbeing
• Unit 02: Promotion of mental health and wellbeing
• Unit 03: Mental health problems: associated issues and consequences
• Unit 04: Understanding mental ill health
• Unit 05: Working in mental health.
Classroom learning every Monday for 8 weeks at the centre.

Ideal if

This qualification is appropriate for a wide range of people with an interest in raising their own understanding good mental health issues. It would complement study in a range of areas, for example PSHE, healthcare, social care, counselling or public services. It may also be particularly useful for those working within the voluntary and community sector and for others whose role calls for interaction with the general public day to day.

What to expect

The Delivery of the qualification is done in a classroom based setting at Achievement Training. You will be provided with a detailed course programme. At the centre you will have the opportunity to network with other learners, share practice and access different resources to support your learning including laptops, desktops, tablets and textbooks.
