What you'll Learn
This qualification is for people who are experienced assessors and have previously achieved the Certificate in Assessing Vocational Assessment. Learners must be able to assess, occupational competence, vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in the work place and other non workplace environments: for example a workshop, classroom or other training facility.
Trainee Internal Quality Assurers need to be suitably experienced to support at least 2 assessors and must be able to liaise with External Quality Assurers. The qualification comprises 2 mandatory units:
- Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment
- Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment Entry Requirements
You are an experienced assessor holding a recognised vocational qualification at level 3 and have up-to-date workplace knowledge in the area you wish to quality Assure. You will need to be working or volunteering within an educational environment. It is recommended that trainee Internal Quality Assurers have a minimum of 2 years experience post qualifying as an assessor.
What to expect
You will attend once a week for tutorials at Achievement Training’s City Centre location. Your tutor will support your throughout the course. The Delivery of the qualification is done mainly at the workplace, the assessor will visit the work place every 6-8 weeks. You will receive a login to an on-line portfolio account, which can be accessed from any Wifi point at work at home or in our centre or through 3/4G. You will be provided with a detailed course programme. At centre you will have the opportunity to network with other learners and to share practice and access to different resources to support your learning including laptops, desktops, tablets and textbooks.
This qualification will help you to progress into employment as an Internal Quality Assurer in a range of settings within the Lifelong Learning Sector, which include:
- Further Education College
- Private Training Provider
- 6 th Form College
- Adult and Community Education
- Prison Service
