What you'll Learn
The Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 can only be completed as part of the intermediate Apprenticeship framework. You can select a pathway that suits your role – for example, working with people with a learning disability or people with dementia. This qualification will cover a range of topics, including:
- the role of a health and social care worker
- health and safety
- equality and inclusion
- personal development
- assisting people to eat and drink
- promote person centred care within daily tasks

If you’re already working in care, you probably work mainly under supervision, this course will increase your skills so you can progress and take on more responsibility.
What to expect
To be assessed for each unit, your assessor will watch as you perform tasks,and look at a portfolio of work that you’ve built as formal evidence of your learning. A work placement is essential for this qualification, we can support you to find one.
This is the recognised qualifications for care workers in health and social care. On completion you can progress to the Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care depending on your job role and responsibilities.
