What you'll Learn
The programme covers a wide range of skills including: skin care and facial treatments, professional make-up application, lash and brow treatments, waxing techniques as well as manicure and pedicure services, threading, gel nails (both hard gel and colour gel), and nail art.
This qualification has been specifically designed to develop the knowledge and skills to prepare you for employment as a beauty therapist specialising in make-up, skin care and beauty or nail services.
You want to gain the skills to work effectively as a beautician specialising in facial skincare, enhancement of eyebrows and eyelashes, make-up services, effectiveness at work, health and safety and promoting additional products and services to clients.
You will further develop your understanding and skills by including specialist units. The structure of this qualification provides learners with the flexibility to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills depending upon their designated career pathway.
What to expect
You will learn in our training centre within a realistic working environment. By the end of your qualification, you’ll be demonstrating your skills on paying clients. For each unit your assessor watches and asks questions as you perform a tasks to assess your practical skills. Your understanding of theory will be tested by the completion of online tests.
Professional Equipment: It is advisable to purchase your own set of professional equipment to assist your progression on the course and to equip you ready for employment. Available to order from ATL
On completion of this qualification you can progress onto a Level 3 qualification in either Beauty and/or Nails services.
You could move into employment as a beautician in a range on settings, including: a commercial salon, independent / self employed mobile or homebased setting, or a beauty retail concessions
