What you'll Learn
This course explains the processes that are needed to be a competent support technician in a senior role, you will explore and undertake an in-depth analysis of servers, scripting, virtualisation, networking, technical fault diagnosis and remedy.
You will be able to understand the importance of working to SLA’s and be able to plan your own work effectively. This qualification comprises two mandatory units and a wide range of optional units selected to meet national occupational standards. Technical Advice and Guidance Technical Fault Diagnosis Testing ICT systems Working with ICT Hardware and equipment Health and safety in ICT Develop own effectiveness and professionalism Customer Care in ICT.
Level 3 is ideal if you are looking to progress in your career or to learn new ICT skills. It is also appropriate for those looking to enter higher education. You will further your skills and knowledge and have the opportunity to progress to a senior role. This course is aimed at people working in 1st line support roles but want to enhance their skills and further their career for a 2nd and 3rd line role.
What to expect
You will learn at our training centre within a realistic working environment. You will have access to different types of devices such as laptop’s, desktops and tablets. Your understanding of theory will be tested by the completion of online tests. Your tutors have an excellent knowledge of the subject and will give you support throughout the qualification. At ATL we use an on line portfolio system. A work placement is required 1 day per week to develop your knowledge and understanding and gain work based experience.
The course can be completed as part of an intermediate Apprenticeship moving onto advanced and higher Apprenticeships.
This qualification will enable you to have a better understanding of what it takes to progress further into ICT in a 2nd and 3rd line role. You can also progress onto industry standard qualifications such as the CompTia A+, Microsoft MCSE and the vmWare VCP.
