An apprenticeship is a job with training.

Find an Apprenticeship service

As an Apprentice, you will gain the technical knowledge, practical experience and wider skills and behaviours you need for your immediate job and future career. An apprentice gains this through formal off-the-job training and the opportunity to practise these new skills in a real work environment.

How can I find an Apprenticeship? By using the Find an Apprenticeship service One of the best ways to find an Apprenticeship, you can set up a free account which will allow you to search and apply for different apprenticeship vacancies. As apprenticeships are real jobs, you will need to apply by submitting an online application using your personalised account.

What if I have already found a job?

If you already have an employer in place who has agreed to offer you an Apprenticeship, you will need to find a training provider to support you with your training. Please call the Business Team 01752 202269 for information about starting the programme.

How is training delivered?
You will be working, usually full time, in your job role. The qualification training will be done mainly at the workplace, with the off-the-job training accounting for at least 20% of your employed time. An assessor will regularly visit you at work to observe you performing relevant tasks and to carry out professional discussions. You will receive a login to an online portfolio and complete a variety of learning modules. English, Maths and ICT will need to be completed prior to completion if you have not already achieved them at GCSE grade C / level 4 or above.

Promoting opportunities for young people!

Pre Apprenticeships provide employers and young people the opportunity to see if the work environment suits them before committing to a job or apprenticeship.

Pre-apprenticeships, otherwise known as traineeships are a perfect solution for anyone who is 16-18 years old and has just left school, but do not feel quite ready to go straight on to a full apprenticeship or sixth form.
Through valuable work experience, students can gain knowledge and understanding of the workplace, and go on to undertake a full apprenticeship in a sector of their choice.
