Business and Professional Administration at L4 play an integral role in developing and supporting organisational objectives through a wide range of functions, such as: managing team dynamics, delegation and capability building, planning and managing projects, and managing budgets

The Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Management has been developed to support those working as managers and senior managers. The main objectives are to:

  • Build a competent management workforce, providing organisations of all sizes across all sectors with the staff needed to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Tap into the skills and talents of a diverse population by providing flexible entry routes into a career in management.
  • Equip individuals with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to undertake management roles in a range of business settings.
  • Provide apprentices with an opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and experience they will need to progress to higher level roles with additional responsibilities and onto future learning opportunities, if they wish to do so.

Ideal if

It is expected that level 4 higher apprentices will have some experience of working at a junior or middle management level to ensure they have the suitable foundations on which to further build their knowledge and skills. Learners are also expected to have some line management experience.

Learners who do not have any management experience may be better suited to the Level 2 Team Leading Intermediate Apprenticeship.


What to expect

The Delivery of the qualification is done mainly at the workplace, the assessor will visit the work place every 6-8 weeks.

You will receive a login to an on-line portfolio account which can be accessed from any Wifi point or through 3/4G either at work, at home or in our centre. You will be provided with a detailed course programme. At the centre you will have the opportunity to network with other learners, share practice and access different resources to support your learning including laptops, desktops, tablets and textbooks.

What next?

With additional training, higher apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to senior management or director level roles.

Higher Apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto:

  • The Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Management & Leadership
  • Further or higher education to undertake business related or other qualifications, including: Foundation Degrees in areas such as management and leadership, business, business management, and business administration
  • A range of business and management undergraduate programmes
  • Management qualifications and other professional qualifications at level 5 and above
  • Specialised qualifications providing additional technical knowledge further employment opportunities within their current job role/alternative job roles
  • Possible membership of professional bodies, including the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Leadership & Management

There is no cost to the Apprentice

Levy Employer cost = £4,000.00

Non Levy Employer cost = £200.00 +VAT
