What you'll learn
The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Award in Health and Social Care provides an engaging, robust, broad-based introduction to the sector. It provides a good introduction to Health and Social Care for learners in post-16 education. These qualifications bring together learning at Levels 1 and 2 to ensure that every learner taking the qualification completes it with the level of understanding and skill on which to build at a later date. It presents knowledge, skills and understanding in a meaningful work-related context to allow learners to understand theory and application.
This qualification has been designed for learners age 16 years and over with a keen interest in working in the Health and Social Care sector.
There are no entry requirements, however it would be beneficial if you have studied GCSE Child Development or HSC.
What to expect
You will attend 2 days a week at Achievement Training’s City Centre location plus 1 day at a relevant work placement. At the centre you will have the opportunity to network with other learners, share practice and access different resources to support your learning including laptops, desktops, tablets and textbooks. Your tutor will support your throughout the course and you will be provided with a detailed course programme.
Learners will progress onto Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care which can help you succeed in a wide range of health care settings such as: Residential Care, Community and Primary Care, Acute Health Environments, Supported Living Projects, Domiciliary Services, Community-based Care or Private Care for a person or family.
