What you'll learn

The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce is aimed at those who have progressed from a Level 2 qualification in a similar subject. It will prepare you to become an Early Year’s Educator and enable you to work with children from birth up to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged 5-7 years. You will need a childcare placement with age groups birth to 5 years.

You have already achieved a level 2 qualification in a related subject or have extensive work place experience. A work placement is required for a minimum of 2 days per week.

This course attracts 32 UCAS Points

Your tutor will support you throughout the course. You will be provided with a detailed course programme and will receive a login to an on-line portfolio account which can be accessed from any Wifi point. At the centre you will have the opportunity to network with other learners and to share practice and access to different resources to support your learning including laptops, desktops, tablets and textbooks.

Progression

Upon achieving this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter employment as Early Years Educators. To gain your license as an Early Years Educator practitioner you must have relevant GCSE grades in English and Mathematics. These qualifications can help you progress in a wide range of Childcare roles including: Practitioner in Nursery School, Assistant in Childcare Centre or Practitioner in a Foundation unit/class in a Primary School or Pre- School Practitioner.
