There are four vocational routes to choose from:

1. Animal Care (Practical small animal care skills) level 1 – Ideal if you have an interest in animal care as an area of employment and want to develop practical skills in this area.
What you will learn?
• gain work-related skills in the area of animal care
• prepare for further training within this occupational area
• gain an insight into core activities within this occupational area.

2. Child Care (Caring for a Child/Children) Entry 3 – Ideal if you wish to develop the basic skills needed to care for a baby or young child.
What you will learn?
• Setting a routine
• Healthy lifestyles
• Importance of play and learning

3. ICT level 1 – Ideal if you require a basic level of skills and knowledge that could lead to further education in IT or related areas and can provide the confidence to work effectively with ICT and deal with tasks that are straightforward or routine.
What you will learn?
• Basic Word processing
• Basic Presentations
• Basic Spreadsheets

4. Employability Skills at Entry 2, Entry 3 and Level 1
Ideal if you wish to develop the personal and work-related skills that could enable you to progress into
further learning or supported employment, or enhance your independent living skills.
What will you learn?
• Develop personal and inter-personal skills to enable the learner to enhance their quality
of life and behaviour within accepted norms
• An awareness of the need to operate safely in a particular environment
• Provide opportunities for experiential learning
• Provide basic understanding of industrial practice through performing routine tasks
• Provide motivation and recognition of progress and achievement
• Develop mental and physical co-ordination, dexterity, mobility and confidence
